Running and Weights...

I started the Couch to 5k program with my step-son Sunday night (YEAH!) and the big dog, Bo.  We did Day 1 of Week 1 and I survived it all!  It was great run. He is going to run tonight by himself, because I am a little slower than him.  I also started on Saturday my weight training program (every other day) and have gotten that in twice! I made a commitment for 84 days, and so far I have three in! WOOHOO... Just has to share my success, because I have to keep it up.  I want to tone this new body up (and I am only 5lbs from being in the century club!!!!)

So three gold stars for me!

WooHoo!  You go girl!!  Awesome job.

And don't you just love the feeling when your run or your workout is complete?  Gives me lots of energy and I'm left feeing as if I can take on the world.

Keep it up!!

I feel wonderful!  After completing my first day on my run I was on top of the world.  Who would have thought I, ME, would be running 9 months post op! We are training for a 5k in October.  I hope to run it with him!  We shall see!

Thanks for the encouragement

AWESOME! congratulations!!! I promise the more you do it the easier it becomes. Then it becomes an addiction and the next thing you know you are buying hundreds of dollars of running clothes, a watch that costs as much as a car payment and shoes that were specially fitted for your style of running. (not that I would know...lol)

Good luck!

Tracey - PLEASE DO NOT TELL MY HUSBAND THIS! LOL!! I am already itching to go to the special running shoe store here in Houston, to be fitted to the perfect shoe.  AGHH! (As I sit at work in a dress that cost $160 that I have worn twice and is too big....ummm. He WILL not be happy!)

The accomplishment you feel after a couch to 5k interval is amazing.

I'm so, so proud of you ladies!!!!  The accomplishment and amazement you feel as you complete each step of the couch-to-5k is something I'll never forget.  I remember each time being excited about the next run just to see if I would be able to do it, and miraculously, I could!

I'm not sure what part of Texas yall are in, but if you're anywhere in the DFW area, we run/walk every Saturday morning.  We'd LOVE to have you join us.  This Saturday we're back in the North Tarrant County area.  I'll be posting details later today.

Happy running, and keep up the great work!!
